What is Life Coaching?
Coaching is an evolving relationship between two people, the Coach and the Client. Within this relationship, the Coach assists the Client to maximize his/her potential, achieve goals and produce successful outcomes. The first step in this developmental journey, however, is awareness. For the Client, awareness means understanding ‘why’ s/he needs to embark on this journey of self-discovery. For the Coach, awareness means understanding ‘why’ he/she is in this line of work.
Life Coaching begins with an awareness that every human being can be, do or have whatever they want in life. As a Life Coach, I adopt a holistic approach to my work with clients. This means that I see my clients as whole human beings who are capable to be, do or have anything they want as long as they focus on their resourceful states. It also means that I provide my clients with strategies and ways to focus on the present (and not dwell on the past) by identifying what they want in life. I aim to support my clients in their journey of reclaiming their ‘lost’ confidence while helping them move forward in the areas of their life where they wish to see change. Life Coaching is about breaking down the barriers which hinder this change from happening. Examples of such barriers are limiting beliefs and negative emotions that have been stored in the subconscious from childhood, only the person who carries them is not aware of them.

Life coaching is a unique relationship between a professionally trained coach and a client. I see myself as a non-critical and non-judgmental mentor, guiding my clients to gain the skills and attitude toward a fulfilling and stress-free life. I am committed to promoting and supporting my clients’ growth, learning and development so that they feel they are no longer alone in this journey of discovering what is meaningful in their lives. I work with them to establish better goals, sustain momentum, overcome setbacks and move towards success. However, the real protagonists in this journey are the clients themselves.
The word “appreciation” means “being grateful for something or someone” or “recognizing the full worth of something or someone”. Many people, however, say “thank you, I appreciate it”…(whatever the “it” may represent) without feeling the words. Finding the emotion of appreciation inside is really not that hard. All we have
Our planet earth is suffering and sending out an S.O.S. !! How do we know? One look around and we can see wars, famine, disease, arguments, fighting, depression and bitterness. Why is this happening? There is only one answer to this question….and that is greed! Nothing and no one is
There are signs everywhere! The universe, God or our true self – depending on how you wish to name the higher power that governs us 🙂 – is always showing us signs that life is a gift. I got my ‘sign’ in an actual sign this time which was literally
A lot has been written about the concept of ‘Humility’. Just like any other concept, the term ‘humility’ has many interpretations and invokes different images in our minds. For example, when we contemplate the word ‘humility’ images of religious figures or gurus may come to mind. We may also think
Unconsciously, we lower our vibration every day. We think negative thoughts, we get upset at the most insignificant things, we focus on what is not important while at the same time forgetting that our presence on this earth is short and temporary. We feel guilty for no reason at all
In a recent presentation, I spoke with students about “attitude”. In my line of work as a life coach and NLP coach, it is very gratifying to interact with young minds. I am eager to hear what they have to say and listen to their concerns because young people represent
In a recent conversation with a beloved person, the topic of ‘purpose’ came up. Many people go through life without ever discovering their purpose. Others know their purpose early on in life and go for it. Whether we are aware of it or not, we all have a purpose. Our
What better day to write about the Light than today – the day when most Christians around the world celebrate “Epiphany” or the day of “Holy Lights”. I do not mean to give a religious meaning to the day or term but rather a spiritual one. For me, this day
It is Christmas! There are many explanations for how the term “Christmas” evolved, but I will not get into that. What is certain, however, is that the word “Christ” (in Greek “Xristos” which means “annointed”) is definitely part of the word. In other words, Christ, the “annointed One” came and
Yesterday, we had our December Happiness Club meeting. It always amazes me to observe in our discussions how the members of the Cyprus Happiness Club have been evolving in thought and emotion. We all have our own path to follow in life, and we also have the free will to
